Solutions

Expert Solution

Canadian Tire delivers its products and services to the customers at their homes through online ordering. The process takes place in three steps. In the first step, the customers go through the website to search for suitable products and shop for them online. In the next step, they need to select the Ship to Home option at checkout. The third step involves getting the products delivered at the doorstep.

Canadian Tire possesses the largest supply chain network in the country where raw materials for manufacturing products are sourced from 3400 suppliers. The Bolton Dc of the company has the capability to ship to around 100 million consumer units in a year, which are approximately 300,000 per day. There exist 244 dock doors, 122 for shipping and 122 for receiving. They use the warehouse management system for unloading and receiving the products and consequently, place them on the palates in the conveyable building for the AGVs to pickup, which then out them into storage racking units for picking module.
