In the contemporary world, it has been observed that the alcoholism trend of college has affected billions of college students every year. As mentioned by the authors Audhesh K. Paswan, Lili Gai, Sua Jeon that alcoholism is one of the strong socio-economic issues faced by people of the United States. It has been illustrating that college years are the experimental years with alcohol and majority college students consume alcohol during graduation. It has been observed that many adults used to drink alcohol before entering college and this trend lead to an increase in the risk of developing alcohol use disorders. It has been observed that young college students are more addicted to alcohol and this study is based on examining the determinants towards intention to quit alcohol. It has been depicted from the study that the intention to stop drinking is positively linked with the realization of recessive alcohol drinking. However, another reason to drink for entertainment and for fun with friends. On the other hand, it can be stated that alcohol helps college students escape and minimize loneliness. the main reasons behind alcoholism are the stressors in order to maintain academic performance and to minimize peer pressure. In addition, college students also face depression due to overload of assignments and other family issues which are the main reason for drinking alcohol. However, it was realized by many students that quitting drinking is linked with the positive side of realization.
