How do infographics convey information efficiently?
Infographics are the amalgamation of information (factual or data) and graphics which together help us in conveying the message in an attractive and efficient way. Infographics let the reader connect with the topic and an effectively made infographic looks different and appealing to the human brain thereby information is conveyed in less ambiguous manner. Infographics use the lesser most data-ink ratio which is the ratio of data presented to ink utilized to create the presentation.
When have you or may you need to use these?
1. Business plan: Companies use a business plan to raise private equity from investors. In a business plan, there is a lot of information shown with different projections and aspects of the market. This helps in communicating the information in less time and very efficiently.
2. Forecasting: Companies use forecasting to predict the future sales, demand or operations so that they can allocate the resources and make the most out of a processor opportunity.
3. Advertisements: The advertisements use infographics to convey the message and information in a convincing and appealing manner. They use it very efficiently as they have very less amount of time (say 30 seconds).
4. Flowchart: It uses infographics to show a process flow and all the nodes from beginning to end. This helps in understanding different aspects of a process and the bottleneck.
5. Infographics extensively use methods and tools to show a large amount of data in a small space and help the readers to learn effectively in a shorter span of time. For example, infographics in cricket match use different techniques to show the data in an attractive manner which the minds of the user can retain easily.
