A pediatrician is interested in the Canadian child development at age 4-5. She randomly selected 15 children and recorded their heights as follow: 91.9, 97.8,111.4, 122.3, 105.4, 95.0, 103.8, 99.6, 96.6, 119.3, 104.8, 101.7, 98.0, 88.2, 91.9 (unit: cm). Assume that the height of Canadian child follows a normal distribution.
(a) Calculate the mean and standard deviation of this data.
(b) Give a 90% confidence interval for the mean height of Canadian children at age 4-5.
(c) Test if the mean height of Canadian children at age 4-5 higher than 100cm with significant level 0.1.
(d) Give a 95% CI for the proportion of Canadian children at age 4-5 higher than 97cm. (e) Test if less than 50% Canadian children at age 4-5 are higher than 97cm with significant level 0.05.
