General Motor established in 1908. That time the company was the sole carmaker dealer in the region, e.g. Michigan, first it was a holding Buick company, till 1920 it was becoming the world largest motor manufacturing company. However, General Motor is a fallen giant. Glory of the past from being a great market leader to bankrupt company General motors has come a long way. In 1980s GM was the top car manufacturer in the USA until the arrival of the Japanese cars. The Japanese sold cheap and better cars. GM failed to realize the change in the industry and technology and constantly lost market share to the Japanese companies.
What will be the role of communication in the process of implementing changes for General Motors? 250 words
This assessment will discuss the trends and emerging practices in project communication management:
1.Professionalism:
The project management goes through a lot of problems in professionalism for the completion of jobs and projects are taking place in the modified environment. Professionalism is the way you conduct yourself at work to represent both yourself and your company positively. Project managers must ensure that all client or employer information be kept confidential and not lead to a situation where there is a conflict of interest.
2. Emotional intelligence: Emotional intelligence is the ability to monitor your emotions or others' emotions and uses this to guide your actions. Emotional intelligence is when you can demonstrate feelings, empathize with others, and make proper decisions. The better use of emotional intelligence, the better a project is managed and, as a result, you become a better leader. Emotional intelligence is beneficial for better team performance.
3.The internet of things:
IoT stands for Internet of Things means that means any object or tool component can have sensors inducted to monitor operating conditions, performance levels, and manual states.
It permits an improvement in the timelines, boosts security, team alliance, and remote control.
4. Social Responsibility:
it has become an important part of project management, and it will eventually bring better accountability. People are always ready to work with reliable people and fulfill their responsibilities in a socially accepted way. All along, they are accountable too.
Project managers can bring a modification in their companies by coming to be socially responsible. They can do so by beginning at a basic level and enhancing workplace regulations, liberties of employees, and environmental protections.
