Hospitals are finding the importance of developing strategies to become a high reliability organization (HRO). Why would this be important in healthcare and share at least 1 strategy that should be used to develop this type of an organization?
Reliability is the word which is the backbone of any business today. We are not living in the era of industrial revolution when people had only a few option to take product or service, this is the era of competition everywhere and to sustain in competition organizations are only left with moral phenomina called reliability. Reliability plays key role in establishing relation whether with other person or with an organisation like Hospital. More the reliability more the chances of growth.
Patient safety is one of the most important factor to improve reliability at Hospitals. There are many points upon which reliability of hospital can be measured namely expertise of medical professional, process of operation(not surgery), culture and environment of hospital.
Here if we focus on the principle of "Core" for the organisation then we must go with the strategy of hiring Qualified and ethical health care professional. There are many thing to focus to make a organisation great but "Core" it the point which is backbone of running that particular business. For instance, say "Core" for restaurant is "Taste" of food, rest is supportive to attract customer like good interior and service, but if taste is not good then rest can not maintain arrival of customer for long time.
In the same manner Core of hospital is treatment, that is only possible with highly qualified and trained ethical professional.
Ethical people are those who required least amount of attention from owner to perform duty well without doing wrong with patient as well as organisation. They can serve their best without repeated instruction. Service of healthcare profession make a bonding with patient and this bonding is a source of reliability. A qualified medical professional can give best treatment in less time having good impression and more patient flow.
