Laws contain consequences for when they are broken (e.g. fines, imprisonment) while policies outlines principles of action for an organization. If you design an ethics policy for your organization and include consequences for violation of the policy, does the policy then become a law rather than a policy? Why or why not?

Offcourse , my policies will be considered as legal framework to the ethical governance. I will impose penalties and fines in case of serious or regular violations of the policies guidelines. Even , i will request our legal expert to suggest me some leagal points which may binding to our both internal as well as external stakeholders .

We shall include policies related to value system like honest contribution , moral beliefs transparent governance , truth as a virtue for internal and external image of the organization etc. Apart from these ethical guidelines, i will frame do's and don't for the employees , for example

1) Respect each seniors as well as collegues( Do's)

2) Never abuse anyone at workplace. ( Don't)

If , an employee will incur any wrong doing then some monetary or adverse entry will be done . Organizational laws which will be framed based on ethical and value based guidelines might be get approval from board of directors. Even , those laws must be in line with the federal, state , statory or local laws.
