Discuss the differences observed in the IR and NMR spectra of bromobenzene and 4-bromonitribenzene that are consistent with the introduction of a nitro group onto the ring.
bromobenzene converted in to 4 nitro bromo benene
in this bromo benzene we observed IR peak at 1650 cm-1 due to C=C steching fruancy and 625 cm-1 due to C-Br streching freuancy. NMR peak observed at (multiplet)7.2-7.4 ppm range for 5 H, aromatic proton.
but for 4 nitro bromo benzene
IR- on introducing NO2 group in compound W peak is observed at 1450-1550 cm -1 for NO2 symmetric streching and assymetric streching, peak at 1650 cm-1 due to C=C steching frequancy and 625 cm-1 due to C-Br streching frequancy.
NMR-in NMR there are two doublets are observe one at 8.2 ppm due to ortho nitro (Deshilding) having coupling constant (8Hz) for two Hydrogen ortho to nitro group and 7.34 ppm due to two proton attached ortho to bromo having coupling constant (8 Hz).
