How do viruses repair themselves?

How do viruses repair themselves?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Ans :

Some viruses are capable of protect themselves rather than repair .Viruses have well-known strategies for slipping past the immune system. One strategy is faking or stealing a molecular identification badge that prevents a cell from recognizing a virus. Some viruses have another strategy. They can block the immune system protein that checks for the identification badge. The blocking structure is called a stem-loop, found at the beginning of the virus genetic material. When the stem-loop is in place and stable, it blocks a host cell key immune system protein called ifit1 (Interferon Induced Protein With Tetratricopeptide Repeats 1) from binding to the viral RNA and the infection continued unchecked. Some viruses has the feature to encode their genes directly in RNA. When a virus infects a cell, it divert the cells protein making system to make viral proteins. These proteins allow the virus to replicate. Copies of the virus break into other cells, repeat the process, and the infection spreads.

Scenario 2. Normally viruses infect a host cell, replicate themselves inside it and burst the host cell so that they can go on infecting other cells. In this viral infection, the virus has stopped the normal apoptotic pathway to allow themselves to stay within the cell indefinitely – a phenomenon known as latency. Further studies on this virus has shown that the virus encodes inhibitors of caspase 8 activation. Scenario 2 describes the development and maintenance of a latent viral...
