Describe how the marketing of services differs from the marketing of products. Provide examples relate to tiger airway company to illustrate your answer
Product marketing is different from the Service marketing because of the difference and unique features of Services which is not shown by the products. A product is a tangible item thus the marketing of the same product is shown by how useful the product is, how the product develops and how the product could make your life better by creating promotion and customer's engagement for the product. Product can be owned, stored and doesn't always perish.
On the other hand, a service is an intangible item which cannot be moved. You can feel the service being used and making your life easier. Customer care is a very critical tool in the marketing of the services. It cannot be stored and is perishable thus marketing of service is entirely different from the marketing of products.
For example, taking the example of Tiger Airway Company, the company doesn't provided the products. The company provided the services of air travel by purchasing of the ticket or booking a seat in the plane. Thus, the things the tiger Airway company would market would be the experience they provide in the airplane, the good airplane staff, the comfortable seats and how good they could make the airtravel for you. All these things cannot be viewed. You can only feel the service once you avail the same. This is marketing of services.
On the other hand, Apple marketing its product would show how the Iphone is better and how it could make your life better. It shows the unique features which is comparable and they even market by comparing and making a unique offering. This is marketing of product. You are able to see it.
