do you know of anyone that has been grandfathered into a leadership position that was successful? Who and explain.
Grandfathered means to be exempted from new rules because they are abided to an old rule pertaining to the same situation and the person exercising this is having the grandfather rights. There are many people in the world who are grandfathered.
The successful scenario to be discussed here is of the US legacy carriers. They merged down from six to three. The kept the holdings of the grandfather clause allowing the old carriers to keep control over the airport slots. By doing so, they could mitigate the competition and get involved in innovation.
The another person who exercised this was Julius Adams, a defensive lineman in NFL (National Football League). He played for New England Patriots. He exercised this right for numbering system. A numbering system was introduced in 1973, which required a player to be numbered by his position. For this, a grandfather clause was allowed for the players who wants to keep their original numbers only if they have played in the 1972 season. Julius Adams has joined NFL in 1971 and he exercised this right and had his number 85.
