Indicate the structures that a red blood cell would pass through on its way from the transverse colon to the spleen?
Pathway of red blood cell from transverse colon to spleen -
Middle colic vein ( supplies transverse colon) --> superior mesenteric vein ( middle colic vein drains into superior mesenteric vein ) --> portal vein ( superior and inferior mesenteric veins along with splenic vein drain into hepatic portal vein --> liver-->HepaticHepatic vein ( portal vein traverses liver and divides into sinusoids which then further drain into hepatic veins ) --> inferior vwna cava ( hepatic vein drains into inferior vena cava ) --> right atrium --> tricuspid valve --> right ventricle -->pulmonary semilunar valve --> pulmonary artery --> pulmonary capillaries in lungs --> pulmonary veins --> left atrium --> bicuspid valve --> left ventricle --> aortic valve--> ascending aorta --> arch of aorta --> descending aorta --> coeliac trunk --> splenic artery.
