System is ‘an interconnected collection of elements which is organized coherently in a manner which obtains something. A system comprises of 3 types of things ,namely- elements ; interconnections & a purpose’.
Elements of a system are its individual parts which are quite visible & are easily recognizable.
Interconnections are the relations which hold the elements together / defines how the elements function together to fulfil the system’s purpose.
Purpose is ascertained based on the systems behavioural pattern
Changing elements normally has the least impact on the system
except if changing any element outcomes in changing relations /
purpose.
A system usually carries on being itself, altering only gradually
if at all, even with total replacements of its elements- so long as
the interconnections & its purposes stay intact.
If the interconnections or the purpose change then the system may be altered greatly.
