What can engineering societies do to defend their goods once a conflict of interest is exposed?

Have ASME's reviewed conflict-of-interest procedures addressed the difficulties fully? Why or why not?

Expert Solution

When I had others' conflict of interest of interest, the way in which I was treated is as below:

  1. When there is a dependency in the other person to perform my own duty, the required support from the other was not available when there was a conflict of interest.
  2. I had to adopt other sources of operational methods so that the processes does not make and conflict of interest to the other person.
  3. I had to take care of the other person's personal expenses also to make him support me for the given job at hand.
  4. The other person will not lend a supporting hand for our own success. This is because of the fact that his interest is being compromised there.
  5. The independent ability to make free flowing decisions gets hampered.

These were the ways that I have been treated when there is a conflict of interest for the other person
