The major threat to existence, particularly in the developing world, is poverty. The MDG (millennial development goals) were set to reduce world poverty by half, which would assist in increasing the standard of living of mankind. Education is extremely important to children as it improves self-understanding and quality of life. It can be said that education can enhance the standard of living of the people who would assist in alleviating poverty. Thus, there exists a negative relationship between the education level and poverty rate. In order to measure the relationship the high school graduation rate of the US for the year 2017 is being compared with the poverty rate for 2017 for different states of the US.
