You are working on a clinical trial for a new drug, Straterol™, which you hope will treat patients with high blood pressure. You recruit 60 participants, take their systolic blood pressure, then give them the drug and take their blood pressure again.
If μd is the average difference in blood pressure before and after the administration of Straterol™, state the null and alternative hypotheses.
What is a type I error in terms of this experiment? What is a type II error?
At a significance level and a power of , what is the smallest detectible difference in blood pressure if the standard deviation of blood pressure is 10? Use Stata for your calculations.
state the null and alternative hypotheses.
Ho : µd= 0
Ha : µd > 0
What is a type I error in terms of this experiment? What is a type II error?
Type 1 error:
Reject the null hypothesis: When you reject that average difference in blood pressure before and after the administration of Straterol is not zero but in actual it is zero.
Type 2 error:
Fail to reject the null hypothesis: When you fail to reject that average difference in blood pressure before and after the administration of Straterol is zero but in actual it is not zero and medicine worked.
for last part please provide data..could not see power and significance level data.
