Solutions

Expert Solution

b) Diamagnetic Materials- The diamagnetic materials have no unpaired electrons as all the elctrons are paired in the case of diamagnetic materials therfore they do not have permanent magnetic dipole moment per atom and they have weak negative magnetic susceptibility to an external magnetic field.

Paramagnetic Materials: It has its own magnetic moment due to having unpaired electrons. They have a small positive magnetic susceptibility in the presence of external magnetic field.

Ferromagnetic Materials: They have also their own magnetic moment due to unpaired electrons. They have very large positive magnetic suseptibility in the presence of external magnetic field.
