Answer: Internships are definitely a good way to try out an industry before going into it as a career.

When you freshly graduate, you have no experience so it's not easy to get a permanent job so student try out Internships to gain experience. In Internship you get to do a bit of everything. Internships are generally of 3 to 6 months, So you can experience every industry like you take 3 months internship in marketing, then 3 months in Finance and so on. You can feel the industry and you can learn how things happen in each industry, what are the tasks and responsibilities you have in each industry. You can feel the difference in content and then you can choose the industry which you liked best as a career. Internships allows you to gain experience and knowledge of the industry as the main thing is learning in an internship. In a job you are expected to perform but in Internship you learn and perform. Internships build your confidence as well because you know how things are done in real world and you communicate with professional in an industry. During internships, you have no pressure, you learn and watch how things are done in the industry. You learn critical work skills like team work and analysis. It is good to try out the industry before you go in deep. For example, a student may think he will do good in banking sector and then he take Internship in banking sector and find the tasks really tiring or felt uninterested then he can change his career option. So it's always better you try out before you enter.

Internships are really useful in creating a network of people who may help you in your career. You gain invaluable experience and some Companies hire the interns as permanent employee as well after some time. You feel confident and your communication and teamwork skills are improved. Students join Internships in their summer vacations to make most of their free time.
