Research proposal for the sustainability during the COVID-19 crisis
Objectives
1. To find out ways to overcome the crisis brought by COVID-19.
2. To find out how downsizing of employees could help the organization to sustain.
Research methodology
The research will primarily focus on the return of investment during the period of the pandemic. The research will find out all the expenditures that are not yielding any return in the period.
Needless to say, the organization has a number of employees who have been always loyal to us. But in this hard time, we may have to lay off some of them in order to sustain through the crisis. For this purpose, the research will classify employees according to the their importance during the expected crisis period.
The employees will be classified into three groups. The first group will have the list of employees who are essential in all times. The second list will have the names of employees who are needed to the organisation, but are not necessary. The third list will include the names of those employees who has nothing to contribute in the lock down period.
The research also put forward a compensation package to the employees who will be laid off. An alternative way instead of lay off will also be looked into. The research will look the possibility of providing an option to the employees to take long leave till the pandemic ends.
