Describe how lipids are chemically digested and subsequently absorbed from the lumen of the small intestine as well as how those lipid components then make their way into the bloodstream. Make sure you discuss all relevant steps in the correct order.
Chemical digestion of the fat through digestive tracts are as follows -
1.Lipid digestion initiate in stomach by the assistance of lingual lipase and gastric lipase and majority of lipid digestion occurs in small intestine due to pancreatic lipases. Therefore triglyceride lipid gets converted into fatty acids and monoglycerides.
2.Fatty acids and monoglycerides then forms the micelles by emulsification process ,assisted by bile release and bile salt then get absorbed by microvilli of the absorptive cells of initestinal lining.
3.Fatty acids and monoglycerids recombine in absorptive cells and forms the triglycerides and forms the chylomicrons.Chylomicrons contains triglycerides, cholesterol and phospholipids and protein on their surface.
4.Chylomicrones leave the absorptive cells via exocytosis process and moves into aqueous environment lymph capillaries, further enters into blood in subclavian vein and travels to the rest of the body.
