A carbon atom that is sp2 hybridized will have how many valence electrons occupying sp2 orbitals and how many valence electrons occupying p orbitals.
Carbon is having four valency electrons. When carbon is participating in sp2 hybridization one s orbital and two p orbital results three sp2 orbitals, each sp2 orbital contains one electron and each sp2 orbital forms one sigma bond. Unhybridized p orbital having one electron involved in the pi bond forming. (3 electrons in sp2 orbitals and one electron in p orbital).
