Night auditing comprises the front-desk activities conducted during nighttime, usually in hotels. This is done for customer convenience, who check in/out in late hours.

The steps involved in night auditing are:

  • Evaluating and posting room and tax charges
  • Assembling the charges incurred on the guest by various departments
  • Finalizing the guest’s bills
  • Reconciling the accounts receivable from the guest
  • Evaluating and establishing trial balance
  • Drafting the transaction in the might audit report

One way in which the night auditing process can be improved is by the integration of technologies. The AI can be integrated with the hotel app. The AI will give real-time tracking of when exactly the consumer is arriving at the hotel. This way, the night audit desk can be ready with the formalities and the check in process can be facilitated in shortest turnaround time.

Usually in late nights, the guest is quite tired and wants to finish the formalities as soon as possible and go rest in his room. With the implementation of AI, most of the paper work can be kept ready before the customer arrives the hotel. The night auditor can track the arrival of customer with the help of AI. This way, the room is ready for check in, most of the formalities finished, so that the consumer just needs to do the personal id enquiry, sign the relevant documents and get the keys of the allotted room. This clearly reduces lots of time involved in the check-in process and thus facilitates customer experience.
