Expert Solution

Compare and contrast the classical and neoclassical theories.

The differences between classical and neoclassical theories are as follows:

  • Classical theories concentrate on organisation structures and that it is mechanical as well as impersonal. The new classical theories are organised in the basis of social systems.
  • The classical theories lay their emphasis on rationality as well as order. The new classical theories lay their emphasis on security, personal requirements as well as worker’s social requirements.
  • Classical theories emphasise that rules and regulations give rise to the organisational behavior of a person. Neoclassical theories emphasise that behaviour comes from attitudes, sentiments, as well as feelings.

The biological perspective: the biological perspective refers to the component of biology present in causing abnormal behaviors in a person, such that there would be treatments also focusing on the biology of a person. These treatment methods include drug therapy. According to the biological perspective there would be development of a medical model and this medical model would conceptualise the behavior patterns in a person that are abnormal. This model says that it is the structures as well as biological processes that would cause abnormal behaviours.
