Besides the jury, who else should be researched before the trial?
Besides the jury, the Judge, opposing counsel and the community needs to be researched before the trial. The reasons are:
Judge- Judges have certain predilections. For example, some judges prefer printed boards than the PowerPoint slides. Some judges are slow while some would prefer speeding up the trials. It is important for a paralegal to know about the judge before the trial.
Opposing counsel- The role of the opposing counsel and their witnesses should be researched before the trial to be well-prepared for the full trial. The cross examination questions need to be prepared before the trial to challenge the opposing counsel.
Community- The community and the laws need to be researched pertaining to the case before the trial. The Paralegal are liaison between the community and the government. Additionally, some of the NGOs are interested in their client’s justice henceforth the community.
