Speed factories are set up by Adidas to manufacture products through highly automated and digital processes. It has flexible automated machines and 3D printing machines which allows it to produce shoes at a faster speed with the digital technologies. They are able to manufacture shoes through this facility three times faster than the traditional methods of manufacturing. Through this facility the company was able to produce shoes according to the tastes and demand of the customers because of the flexibility and speed in this operations. The customer can design a shoe customized with their own specifications and Adidas with support of speed factory is able to produce that shoe in no time. As the system is fully automated the shoe specifications and customization can be changed quickly. The shoe is created by robotic machines in the factory which helps in faster and accurate results.
Digital supply chain market and omnichannel in Adidas has made it possible for customers to provide customized specifications for the shoe they require and the company wills to create the product with the given specification. Also technology like RFID is allowing customers to view the inventory, purchase and collect the product through online buying. The customers at the store can view the whole range of products available online and order their choice which will be supplied to them by the store. Speedfactories are focussing on fast fashion where designing, manufacturing and distribution of the shoes is done in fastes speed possible which is three times more than the traditional methods and is working on increasinf the speed further.
