What are examples of qualitative and quantitative changes in brain development (i.e. areas of the brain, not outside physical development like height and weight increase)?

Quantitative changes in brain development:

Development of myelination in the infants, which could be quantitated using the magnetic resonance imaging. This was done as the changes in myelination in the frontal lobe, in the infants had been compared to thstof the young children. There had been changes in the gray matter and the white white matter. This was observed over the age difference of 3 years and it was found that myelination had increased as an exponential function.

Qualitative changes in brain development:

This was noted in the form of changes that occurred in carrying out executive functions in the adults as well as the children. As there are quantitative changes, there would occur qualitative changes in the form of executive functions. For example, executivecintellelildnekn rhe form of improved working memory, task switching abilities, control forms in the form of response inhibition. Identification of goals, cue processing and deductive reasoning. There was a marked distinction between inducting reasoning and deductive reasoning from middle child hood to early adult hood.
