Difference Between Ability
and Skills
- Ability is the natural strength of
the person or the organization through which we can see the
capability of doing any task with full quality but on the other
hand skills are more like knowledge which can be created and
increased by experience.
- More likely ability does not have
any purpose of its existence as we know it is already present but
on the other hand skills have a motive and the person or the
organization acquiring them has a motive for which he has been
working to get these skills.
Let's take an example of the ability
and skills to better understand the difference between them.
- Organizational management has the
ability to manage 300 employees on the same shift. This type of
power to manage such a huge number of employees is known as the
ability of organizational management but on the other hand when the
same management can handle 300 employees of different locations is
the skill of the organizational management as they have learned
this technique of handling different locations at the same time is
a skill which will improve the future and they will able to handle
more locations easily.
These elements can be related to job
performance in various ways. Let's discuss some of them.
- Ability and skills impact the job
performance of any employee. Ability of any employee will display
the actual capability of the employee in his work and skills will
display how the employee is more open to learn and improve himself
in his performance.
- Employee with certain ability
displays through his job performance that he or she is the best for
the task that he or she has been assigned to. With a good skill set
an employee can improve his job performance within the
organization.
