How have sports changed since the 1940s? Are some of the issues raised in the film still present?

Many sports that were present in the 1940’s still prevail today, some have similar rules and regulations while others may have changed a bit. These changes have evolved over a period of time many of them are caused by people.

Sports like cricket, basketball, football are ones which have large fan base, with social media these games and players are become very popular and no less than the celebrities that we have.

Few of the sports and the changes that have occurred in them since 1940’s are given below:

1. Basketball- Basketball players have both men and women, players are not said no if they want to be in the military because of height. Also there are several associations that were there previously that no longer exist.
2. Baseball- Baseball now is played by kids as well, this was not present in the 1940’s era.
3. Soccer- One of the major changes to this game is the introduction of women players, also kids are now into the game with the age bracket to be as low as 3 years.
4. Boxing- Both men and women do boxing today. Boxing has pretty much stayed the same from 1940s to today, but there were still some changes, such as style, technique, and safety.
5. Football- Football has changed many ways, one of which is the safety. For instance, the padding on the legs, a more protective helmet, bigger shoulder pads, and abdominal protection. There is also a National Football league that exists now.

There are some issues that are raised in films still present, however not all of them as some of them pay be just picturized showing the past state:

In many countries taking India, Middle Eastern countries women are still not an active part of the sports world, however we see this being drastically changed over a period of time, especially in India.

The lack of adequate funding and sponsorship still remains a problem for many good players.

Biasness and Betting on sport still exists, which at times poses a moral hazard as well.
