Given

Regression equation: Y(BMI)=17.904+.052(SBP)+.000(Age)+.707(Gender)+1.031(Hypertension).

Age of patient = 50 years

Gender of patient = Male = consider Male is coded as 1, hence Male = 1

BMI of patient = 25

Not on treatment for hypertension i.e. Hypertension = 0

We want to find/estimate blood pressure of patient i.e. SBP = ?

Let’s put these values in above equation

25 = 17.904 + 0.052 (SBP) + 0*(50) + 0.707*(1) + 1.031*(0).

25 =17.904+0.052(SBP) +0+0.707 +0

25 =18.611+0.052(SBP)

25-18.611 +0.052(SBP)

6.389 = 0.052(SBP)

SBP = 6.389/ 0.052

SBP = 122.865384

Blood pressure of patient = 122.865384
