How can I use confidence levels in statistics to solve a nurse patient ratio problem?

what informaitn would I need to do this? How would I collect data?

How would my information help me solve the problem?

Solutions

Expert Solution

For using Confidence Intervals in statistics to solve nurse patient ratio problem:

Research Question:

Is the existing Norse - Patient Ratio is equal to Specifed Nurse - Patient ratio prescribed

H0:Null Hypothesis: P = P0 (Existing Nurse - Patient Ratio is equal to Specified Nurse - Patient Ratio

HA:Alternative Hypothesis: P P0 (Existing Nurse - Patient Ratio is not equal to Specified Nurse - Patiet Raio

By Hypothesis testing of One - Sample Proportion Test, we can first calculate the test statistic Z and then test the same whether it is within the Rejection Region for given SignificanceLevel .

For the above purpose, the data to be collected:

From each hosspital, obtain the number of patients and number of nurses attending on them so that the sample data on Nurse - Patient Ratio.

Our information will definitely solve the problem of determining the existing Nurse -Patient Ratio is satisfactory.

Solve the problem. A one-sided confidence interval for p can be written as p <  + E or p >  - E where the margin of error E is modified by replacing z/2 with z. If a teacher wants to report that the fail rate on a test is at most x with 90% confidence, construct the appropriate one-sided confidence interval. Assume that a simple random sample of 70 students results in 5 who fail the test. a) p < 0.032 b)...
