An elderly relative or friend is worried about an upcoming hip replacement surgery. They aren't very internet savvy, nor do they trust "all that technology stuff." Plus, "this surgeon doesn't know about all my other health issues and medications like my doctor do." Describe the person you are helping through this situation: what specific topics would you discuss with them with regards to technology in medicine to ease their worries? How would you help them learn about the risks and benefits of the procedure, how the procedure is done, and how their recovery will be handled?
Hip replacement surgery helps to remove a painful hip joint with arthritis. Then it is replaced by an artificial joint. The artificial joint far better than a painful hip joint. This surgery is carrying out after doing every possible treatment available for pain relief. After this surgery the patient can get relief from his painful hip joint and to walk in an easy manner. There is nothing to worry about the pain during the surgery.
The pain cannot be recognized after giving the general anaesthesia. This anaesthesia will prevent Further pain during surgery. Artificial hip joint is attached to the remaining bone with special materials. There are two type of surgeries. One is standard technique and other is minimally invasive technique. The main difference between these surgery is length of the incision. 8-10 inch of incision is made in standard technique and 2-5 inch long incision in normally invasive technique.
Normally we do standard technique. There are benefits in normally invasive technique. the blood loss is minimal in this case if we do with an expert surgeon. Without expertise the outcome may be worse than any other technique. In standard technique also Highly skilled doctors are needed. There will be blood loss commonly. So we donate some blood and transfused after surgery.
