The four steps that can be taken to reduce the number of compensation claims are :

a. Investigate : There should be a system to identify, report and investigate the claims. if thethe comp doesn't have it then it should develop a program which develops as many information as it can regarding the injury.

b. Report : Reporting as soon as aj injury occurs is very important as it minimizes false claims. Timely reporting of the claim ensures that the system to adress the claims is working fine.

c. First aid program : Starting a first aid program helps the company to deal with the injury at the earliest possible. Providing early treatment helps reducing number of claims.
