We conduct a 1/2 fractional design (no replicates) to evaluate movie ratings. 4 factors:

- Length of movie

- Genre of movie

- popularity of movie

- year of movie

Is it possible to estimate all two-way interactions?

Solutions

Expert Solution

It is not possible to estimate all two way interactions effects, justfication is as follows,

Following interactions are possible;

1) Genre of movie and Popularity - because popularity dependes on movies genre and age of the population.

2) Genre of movie and year of movie - Perticular years of the film inustry will have specific genreous population.

And following interactions are not possible to estimate

1) Popularity and year - They dont have any relation and effetcts in between.

2) Length and Genre - They are. independent of each other

3) Length and Year

4) Length and Popularity dont have to do anything

HOpe this cleared the answer.

Hence it is not possible to estimate all two way interactions.

1. The movie distributor charges a movie theatre $4 per ticket to rent a movie. Suppose the theatre can seat a maximum of 200 people. The demand for the movie is different for the afternoon showing and for the evening showing. Based on the demand function P = 10 – Q/10 for the afternoon showing and P = 20 – Q/10 for the evening showing, the marginal-revenue function for the afternoon is MR = 10 – Q/5 and for the...

The design of an automotive gear requires the diameter to be 4 inches. To evaluate the production quality, you sample 30 gears and find the average to be 4.11 with a standard deviation of 0.67. Construct a hypothesis test at a 0.05 level of significance to determine if the gear diameter is larger than 4 inches. Select one: a. The critical value is 2.05, the test statistic is 0.90, conclude the gear diameter is not equal to 4 inches b....
