I agree that food can be medicine.What we eat and how much we eat can affect our overall health.A well balanced diet can keep us healthy . The function of healthy food is to allow body to function,maintain health and to prevent disease. You are what you eat but nowdays people are replacing natural food with artificial supplements. Our environment is full of toxins and this can cause variety of diseases.Certain fruits like Apple ,Berries can detoxify our body.Fiber is essential part of a balanced diet and it is found in vegetables,beans and grains.Fiber in the food decrease inflammation and boost our immune system.

A healthy diet can reduce certain diseases like diabetes,heart disease and certain type of cancer. Foods we eat regularly can determine whether we remain healthy or ill in old age.Most of nutrient deficiencies happens due to unhealthy diet. Role of healthy food in our system are:

1.Healthy Food decrease inflammation

2. Healthy Food balances hormones

3.Maintain the blood glucose

4.Healthy food Alkalize our body

5;Healthy food detoxifies our body.

Antioxidants in vegetables and fruits slows the effects of aging.Include more vegetables,fruits ,nuts,fatty fish,wholegrains in our daily diet..Avoid processed food and nourish our body with healthy food.Eat healthily,be happy and let these foods be a part of your wellness regimen.

DASH (Dietary  Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet is a type of diet recommended for people with hypertension.The main aim of this diet is to reduce high blood pressure.In this diet we have to eat fruits,vegetables,lean protein,whole grains and low-fat dairy.Foods rich in high sodium,saturated fats,sweets,refined sugar,full-fat diary are avoided.DASH encourages a person to eat less sodium .In this diet there is increase in take of calcium,magnesiumand potassium.Studies have found that people who were on the DASH diet lowered their blood pressure within two weeks.
