End users all over the world suffer form the consequences of poor water quality.Whether it is private household ,a factory ,a commercial or medical process,everyone has their own expectations and desires on the requested water quality.
when the incoming water supply does not meet these expectations ,water treatment offers the solution.to make your water fit to your demands.
the purpose is to remove contaminants present in the water or reduce the concentration of such contaminants to make the water fit for its desired end-use.Depending on the incoming water quality and end user expectations ,different kinds of treatment can be applied.
treatment plants reduce the pollutants in wastewater to a level nature can handle.
Basics of water treatment are as follows:
water quality improvement entails the disinfection and purification of untreated ground and surface water.
At community level=
The purpose or private water treatment facility is to make water potable i.e.safe to drink and palatable(pleasant to taste). while also ensuring that there is a sufficient supply of water to meet the communities needs.
Raw & untreated water is obtained from an underground aquifer or from a surface of water source ,such as lake or river.It is pumped or flows to a treatment facility.Once there ,the water is pretreated to remove debris such as leaves and slit.
Public versus private= public municiple syatems are owned and operated by the cities or towns they serve,and there is typically under the menagement of a mayer or other elected official.
private systems range from individual wells serving a singal household,to small corporate associations that provide water to a small group or homes to a large corporations that have their own water service divisions.
