how is sludge treated differently in water treatment vs wastewater treatment?
As in the given figure the treatment of water slude is getting from two source first one is from the waste water and second one is after the biological treatment or we can say from, after the water treatment .from these two sources sludge is collected at one place kown as the Thickening filter
Thickening Filter-Thickening treatment is the process in which we dissove some cogulant to increa the size of particle and when size of the particle when increaed the it settle in the bottom .The agent which is used in the thickening tank are actually the flocullant which help to combine one particle with the other particle and the structure is known as the flocc .and this flocc settle in the bottom .
Stablisation-Lime is used as it assist in holding the heavy ion in an insoluble form to eliminate pathogen.and for reduction of odor and fermentation .sludge mixed with lime either evenly or throughly.the amount of lime which has to be mixed require the greater attention.
In this process pathogen removes .preventing fermentation, odor reduction and treated in such a way that it can be used as fertilizer
Dewatering-This is the process in which metal seperated from water and from this point two diversion made one is for solid collection and second one is for water .
Inceneration-in this process there is the destruction of the biological organism and some time for this the heavy trempreture is provided and that is why this is also known as the Thermal Treatment.in this process the sludge is converted into material suchbas ash ,flue gas etc.
After incineration the material used and disposal land fill and if wifhout organic biological distruction the remains can be used for agriculture fill
And in the last the water got from after last treatment used for irrigational purpose only and not for drinking purpose.
