1. Why do many countries in the Middle East have very few cases of Tricheinella infection. Explain why this could be.
2. Why do fish has to be freeze before preparation to make sushi rather than just using fresh fish?
3. What advice will you give to people with worm infections such as trichinellosis or anisakiasis to prevent spreading the infections to roommates or family members?
1 trichinellosis is usually caused by ingestion of undercooked pork many of the middle east countries has relegious restriction on consumption of pork so the disease is notcommon there
2 there are many zoonotic diseases caused by ingestion of fresh fish among them diphylloborthrium or fish tapeworm is common . while most infections are asymptomatic complication occurv by intestinal obstruction and gall bladder diseases anisakiasis is another type of parasitic infection in humans due to ingestion of undercooked fish
3 anisakiasis cant transmit from human to human its intermediate host is fish and crustaceans .so cook the seafood adequately to a temperature atleast 145 F , FREEZE IT AT -4 F OR BELOW FOR 7 DAYS OR - 31 F OR BELOW FOR 15 HRS
TO AVOID TRICHINELLOSIS AVOID UNDERCOOKED MEAT .COOK IT UNTIL BROWN TO AN INTERNAL TEMPERATURE OF 160F FREEZE LESS THAN 6 INCHES THICK FOR 20 DAYS AT 5 F
