High in the Rocky Mountains, a biology research team has drained a lake to get rid of all fish. After the lake was refilled, they stocked it with an endangered species of Greenback trout. Of the 2000 Greenback trout put into the lake 600 were tagged for later study. An electroshock method is used on individual fish to get a study sample. However, this method is hard on the fish. The research team wants to know the smallest number of fish that must be electroshocked to be at least 60% sure of getting a sample of two or more tagged trout. Please provide the answer. For more studies similar to this one, see A National Symposium on Catch and Release Fishing, Humboldt State University.

High in the Rocky Mountains, a biology research team has drained a lake to get rid of all fish. After the lake was refilled, they stocked it with an endangered species of Greenback trout. Of the 2000 Greenback trout put into the lake 900 were tagged for later study. An electroshock method is used on individual fish to get a study sample. However, this method is hard on the fish. biology (5) Your research team has discovered that plants seem to grow hardier when exposed to white light (full spectrum) but fail to grow under green light. Design a complete experimental set-up (see Criteria section above) that would support this premise. .. what would the hypothesis and the independent variable/dependent variable and control variable will be? ..

Research in cell biology and metabolism has progressed due to the discovery of molecules that artificially stimulate or inhibit glucagon/epinephrine and insulin signaling pathways. Let’s say you are working in a lab cataloging the effects of a library of small molecules on these pathways and have a “hit” on molecule 1stAVNGR. Preliminary data on molecule 1stAVNGRindicates that the cardiac isoform of PFK2/FBPase2 is doubly phosphorylated when this molecule is present at micromolar concentrations in cell cultures. A. In consideration of...
