- Should school return to normal this fall? If so, should sports be played?
Currently the whole world is going through a very difficult and uncertain face. Every human being is vulnerable to the situation due to which we all should stay safe and careful. Seeing to this, we also know that the vulnerability rate of elderly population and children are higher.
Recently there was also update and news rounding from the scientists that the novel corona virus would be spread through air which again increases the chances of this turning into a community spread if people move around more in the common places.
And coming to opening of schools, right from coming to the school via a school van or such modes of transport, is the starting point of risk. There are also children who depend on public transports for their travelling to schools and this put them in the risky place.
After reaching the school also there would be hundreds and thousands of students in the school and in a class there would be atleast 30 students. In all these situations it is very difficult to maintain the safe distance between the students and the teachers or other staffs as well.
This would eventually lead to a community spread which starts from the school.
So for the time being even if the children, parents and the teachers and the school management wants to start the school keeping in mind the losing of an academic year or missing the terms and portions, they can start online education where teachers reaches students home through the mobile devices. This would also help the schools ensure that the students are not losing a year or their right to learn.
As the school itself should not be opened there does not arise a question of the sports being played as playing sports are not a mandate.
But parents can urge and motivate the children to spend their evenings and leisure time in sports activities so as keep them energetic and ensure that they do not gain weight or problems of obesity as most of the people are locket at home and eating more as they are all having more free time with less activities.
