Define the statistic measure mode? Find the mode of following data:

i) 3, 3, 7, 7

ii) 3, 3, 3, 4, 6, 7, 7

Solutions

Expert Solution

Mode:

In statistics, mode is another commonly used measures of central tendency apart from mean and median. It is the value that is present in data set maximum number of times. Mode isn't affected by presence of outliers.

i) 3, 3 7, 7

There is no mode present in this data set as there are two observations of each of the two values (3 and 7) and no other value.

ii) 3, 3, 3, 3, 1, 6, 7, 7

Mode for this dataset is 3 as it occurs maximum number of times in this data set.

Mode is another commonly used measures of central tendency apart from mean and median which represents the value that is present in data set maximum number of times.
