Are there any similarities or differences between the General Linear Model (t-test, One-way ANOVA, Correlation) and a Factorial ANOVA?
SIMILARITY
General linear model (GLM) provides us a general structure for a large set of models whose same goal is explain or predict a quantitative dependent variable by a set of independent variables that can either categorical or quantitative.
which means through general linear model we can deal with the large set of data, where goal of each component of model is same that is extracting information about the dependent or response variable with the help of explanatory variables which is somewhere identical to factorial Anova, so let us understand factorial Anova is nothing but Analysis of Variance test which actually has more than one independent variable (or we can say factors) which is similar to glm.
DIFFERENCE
Factorial Anova do comparison among means of two or more independent variables .
One-way ANOVA has only one independent variable that actually breaks the sample into two or more groups, where as factorial ANOVA splits in four or more groups.
