It is estimated that professional cellists practice 3.7 hours per day, on average. It is known that cellists practice hours are normally distributed. To find out if this is true, 27 professional cellists are randomly selected by STRINGS magazine and asked about their practice time. The resulting average is 3.86 hours per day with a standard deviation of 1.2. Is there sufficient evidence to indicate that average cellist practice hours differs from 3.7 hours per day? = 0.02.
Demonstrate all steps and show all work. Include the curve with important values marked, shading, and two probability statemtents.
Write VERY neatly. Please submit a pdf version of your work. DO NOT include the p-value interpretation.
Since the null hypothesis is not rejected their is no sufficient evidence to indicate that average cellist practice hours differs from 3.7 hours per day
