It helps in the process of selection of right candidate both for the political parties and the country. Politicians need public opinion to decide their job profile, they have to work as per the wish of the citizens.


Public opinion relates to American politics, Political parties can not move a single step without the support of public. It is necessary to know what the people are thinking about the government, whether they trust the government and support the policies framed by the government. Citizens' evaluation of candidates' behavior, attitude and working pattern influence their willingness to vote for the potential candidates.


American politics depend upon public opinion to form government and enact new policies. Public opinions vary from time to time, it depends upon the working style of the political parties. If the parties work well then public opinion will be strong for that party. American government needs public support to expand, if there is strong public support government will frame various policies and focus on major issues of the country, like terrorism, economic conditions, health care, global warming and many social issues.


Public opinion matters because it decides the type of government. As opinions vary, it is very difficult to connect political outcomes and public opinion. The influence of public opinion in American government is very strong, citizens' support need to be considered while framing new policies or bringing changes in the existing one.
