Cities can't thrive if environment get worsen.

Suppose in environment, if the plants are affected or their no. Is reduced to minimum level,then purification of air will not be there.

If abiotic component like rainfall is affected which is main source of water for plants,photosynthesis will no be there.

If light intensity is too high, then plant photosynthesis machinery will not work.

If temperature got arise then metabolic enzymes will not be functional.

Also photosynthesis is the only process which cant be performed artificially in lab conditions .

So we can thought of any biotic or abiotic component to be got worse which will lead to effecting human cities because directly or indirectly , we depends on plants or other biotic components and abiotic component of environment like for electricity generation on water , for textiles on trees,for food on plants(those who are carnivores,carnivores feed on herbivores which feed on plants),for medicines and so on.....

So if our environment got worse, human cities can't thrive .
