Experiments performed	The broth infused with plant or animal matter was boiled to kill the pre-existing microbes. sealed the flasks and allowed them to grow for a period of time. Assuming that this heat treatment of broth could have killed the earlier organisms, John Needham explained that the presence of the new microbes are due to the spontaneous generation.	He took four different flasks with broth- 1.Open 2. sealed 3. Heated and open 4. Heated and sealed. The the growth of microbes were checked in each of these. It was absent from only 4. flask suggesting the flaws of the needham experiment.
Spontaneous generation theory	This experiment supported the theory of spontaneous generation.	His experiments rejected the theory of spontaneous generation.
Limitations	It doesn't rule out the fact that the new organisms could be due to some contamination present in the flask. There could be a problem regarding heating or sealing of the tubes properly.
