In your opinion, is there a difference between Demand and Quantity Demanded? if so, give an example
Yes Demand and Quantity demand is a two different terms . 1. Demand refers to the different possible quantities of a commodity that consumer is ready to buy at a different rates. For example . If we buy 1kg mangoes at 30 and than we buy 2 kg mangoes at discount .. the different quantities at different prices is called demand. 2.Demand affected when the amount purchased of a commodity rises or falls because of change in factors ( change in income ,change in raste and preferences ,rise in the price of substitutes etc) other than the own price of commodity. 3.Demand is shifts in demand curve means increase in demand and decrease in demand . Change in demand occur due to others determinants not because of the price of commodity.
1.Quantity Demanded refers to specific quantity to be purchased against a specific price of goods For example if we go to a shop and ask a price of Kurti the shopkeeper said that the price of kurti is 500 .then we buy a 1,2 or 3 quantity at that specific price of kurti only, then whatever quantity we would buy the price should be same. 2.Quantity Demanded effected due to change in its own price of commodity while the others factors (income, tastes and price of related goods) remains same. Quantity Demanded is movement along the demand curve means (expansion in demand and contraction in demand ) change in quantity demanded due to the change in its own price of commodity .
