Bill, a process engineer, learns from a former classmate who is now a regional compliance officer with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) that there will be an unannounced inspection of Bill’s plant. Bill believes that unsafe practices are often tolerated in the plant, especially in the handling of toxic chemicals. Although there have been small spills, no serious accidents have occurred in the plant during the past few years. What should Bill do? |
Considering myself as Bill
The first and foremost work I can do is to use any temporary prevention's for unsafe practices as soon as possible because I don't know that when will OSHA officers will come for inspection, and if the team comes in just few days I will surely have some points to explain them or in another way to say I'll commit my mistake and will say that yes we have made some mistakes and are playing with lives of employees by using such cheap temporary measures because the revenue of our organization is not so high and we can't invest much amount of money in safety measures rather than production because demand is high.
And after the leaving of team,I will surely implant serious safety measures in production unit, because I don't want to face same situation again.
