An FM radio station broadcasts electromagnetic radiation at a frequency of 104.6 MHz. Calculate the wavelength (in m) of this radiation. Report the answer with the correct number of significant figures

Solutions

Expert Solution

We know that frequency, = c / λ

Where

c = speed of light = 3x 108 m/s

= frequency = 104.6 MHz = 104.6x106 Hz

λ = wave length = ?

Plug the values we get λ = c /

                                    = (3x 108 m/s) / (104.6x106 )

                                    = 2.86 m

Therefore the wavelength of this radiation is 2.86 m
