As a researcher, you need to study how many kirana stores in Mumbai sell Lizol brand and range of products (Surface cleaner, Bathroom power cleaner & Kitchen power cleaner.) Which non-probabilistic sampling method would you use to complete your research? Also state the reasons behind choosing that method. Also explain as to how you will proceed ahead with choosing the areas / localities in Mumbai to conduct your research along with timelines.
Non-probability sampling is a technique in the sampling where the samples are collected in a process that does not give all the individuals from the population an equal chance of being selected. It is based on the subjective judgment of the researcher. Because of the scarcity of resources, I would choose Consecutive sampling. In Consecutive sampling, the researcher can select those samples that are easily accessible to him, and in this way, all accessible subjects are covered in our sample. So, as a researcher, I would consider all the Kirana stores in Mumbai that are easily accessible to me. In Mumbai. we have localities where rich people live like Bandra, Borivali, Juhu, etc then there are localities where mostly middle-class people live like Kandivali East, Nallasopara and then there are slums like Dharavi. The rich people will buy Lizol from departmental stores rather than kirana stores. The middle-class people will purchase Lizol from kirana stores more often as compared to other people. Therefore we will target those areas / localities.
