Lucas test: this test is use to distinguish between primary, secondary and tertiary alcohol.

Hexane with lucas test gives no reaction

Chromic acid test : Chromic acid is a strong oxidizing agent.It does not react Hexane. It oxidises aldehyde, primary alcohol to caeboxylic acid and secondary alcohol to ketone.
